• Opened in 1948 on Main Street in Rosendale, New York with the purchase of Myers Garage and Taxi by Arthur and Beverlee Mulligan.
  • In 1959 changed name to A&E Mulligan when Arthur’s brother Eugene, joins the business.
  • In December 1964, business is incorporated and re-named Arthur F. Mulligan, Inc and the company is operating several schools buses to transport parochial school students.
  • Late 1960’s A.F.M. expands fleet to ten buses to serve the newly formed Kingston and Rondout school districts.
  • In 1972, Arthur and Beverlee buy Arrow Bus Line, Inc of New Paltz which operates scheduled service from New Paltz to Kingston and New Paltz to Poughkeepsie. They also operate over the road motorcoaches and the business expands to provide charter bus services.
  • 1979, Gary Mulligan joins the firm as the second generation after military service in the U.S. Air Force.
  • 1984, Gary and Sally Mulligan purchase the George Schwab Bus Company in Kerhonkson operating 11 buses in the Rondout Valley Central School District. Additionally, in 1989 they purchase the Anderson Bus Company and operate both acquisitions under the name of GJM Transportation, Inc. In 1987, they purchase the James C Hoyt bus company and continue to operate in that name.
  • In 1993, Gary and Sally Mulligan purchase A.F.M and Arrow Bus Line, Inc. from Arthur and Beverlee and continue to operate as four separate entities - Arthur F. Mulligan, Inc; Arrow Bus Line, Inc, GJM Transportation, Inc and James C Hoyt, Inc. Total fleet is now 135 school buses and 9 motorcoaches.
  • In 2004, Arrow Bus Line Inc ceases operations and is liquidated
  • In 2006, James C Hoyt Inc is awarded a 50 bus contract with the Onteora School District, total bus fleet is now 185 school buses.
  • In 2007, GJM Transportation and James C Hoyt Inc are merged with A.F.M.
  • 2008 we celebrate our 60th year in business.
